2007 OIL AND GAS RIGHTS SALES SHATTERS RECORD
The December 12, 2007 sale of oil and gas rights in northeast British Columbia capped a record-breaking year for the province. The $401 million generated in bonus bids brought the year-end total to over $1 billon in revenue, the highest yearly total ever. Read more

Oil and gas rights sales brought in over $1 billion dollars of revenue – the highest yearly total ever and mineral expenditures produced a banner year as well, climbing to an all-time high of nearly $416 million. NEW GUIDELINES TO ELIMINATE ROUTINE GAS FLARING BY 2016
On February 7, 2008, the B.C. Oil and Gas Commission released the “British Columbia Flaring, Incinerating and Venting Reduction Guideline” document. It sets out new regulatory requirements and guidance for flaring, incinerating, and venting in the Province. Read more
