Exuberance is in the air as thousands of youngsters set free from their classrooms eagerly get ready for some fun in the sun and freedom from the schedule they’ve kept over the past school year. Did you know ...
- Effective July 1, children between 40 to 80 lbs. and or until their 9th birthday will be required by law to be placed in a booster seat.
- On May 29, the Ministry of Children and Family Development will host its first Child Care Awards of Excellence to recognize the valuable contributions of early childhood educators and licensed family child-care providers in B.C.
- The Child Care Operating Funding Program now supports more than 87,000 licensed child care spaces -almost double what it was in 2001.

Child Care Facilities Honoured For More than Four Decades of Service |
|
The Ministry of Children and Family Development hosted its first Child Care Legacy Awards in February 2008 to recognize the valuable contributions and honour the long service of child care centres across B.C. It was a real pleasure to host the 2008 Child Care Legacy Awards for child care organizations that have been providing child care programs and services for over 40 years.
