Adrian Brooks, QC, has been appointed to the bench of the British Columbia Provincial Court in Victoria. Brooks will take his seat effective April 1. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 1984 and has been practicing law for 23 years, most recently as an associate with Brooks and Marshall. Before graduating from law school in Ontario, Brooks attended the University of Victoria.
Lisa Mrozinski has been appointed to the bench of the British Columbia Provincial Court in Nelson. Mrozinski will take her seat effective March 27. She is experienced in public law, with a focus on constitutional, administrative and Aboriginal law. She is a senior barrister at the Ministry of the Attorney General, where she has worked since 1991. A member of the University of Victoria mentorship program, Mrozinski has served as a lecturer at the university’s law faculty, as well as the Pacific Business & Law Institute and the Canadian Institute.
David St. Pierre has been appointed to the bench of the British Columbia Provincial Court in Port Coquitlam. St. Pierre will take his seat effective March 27. St. Pierre is a partner at Cobb St. Pierre Lewis, a criminal defence practice where he has been since 1998. A founding member of the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada, he volunteers as a mentor in the University of British Columbia’s criminal law program, as well as with Access Justice and Salvation Army pro bono clinics.
Susan Wishart has been appointed to the bench of the British Columbia Provincial Court in Victoria. Wishart will take her seat effective April 1. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 1995. She has been a partner in McKimm & Wishart since 2002, working primarily as a criminal defence lawyer.
