Introduction of the eNewsletter
The Immigrant Integration Branch is pleased to introduce an eNewsletter for the Welcoming and Inclusive Communities and Workplaces Program. The intent of this eNewsletter is to share important information about the program and learn about what others are doing to foster welcoming and inclusive communities across the province. The eNewsletter will be released three or four times a year.

WICWP Program Manager Profile
Tracy Wideman is the newly appointed Program Manager responsible for WICWP. Tracy formerly worked as the Anti-Racism Program Advisor with the Ministry of Attorney General, where she supported communities in their efforts to develop action plans to address racism and hate crime. She is looking forward to connecting with communities and supporting them in their capacity building initiatives.

Overview of the Welcoming and Inclusive Communities and Workplaces Program
Launched in June 2008, the Welcoming and Inclusive Communities and Workplaces Program (WICWP) is intended to foster inclusive, welcoming and vibrant communities in BC.
WICWP is a three year initiative that is slated for evaluation and review in June 2011. The WICWP guidelines outline the scope and outcomes of the program, as well as provide details on the individual funding elements.

Welcoming and Inclusive Dialogues Initiative
The Multiculturalism and Inclusive Communities Office in the Ministry of Citizens' Services is leading the Welcoming and Inclusive Communities Dialogues. The dialogues initiative engages communities in conversations that bring together diverse voices, ideas, perceptions and understandings of what it means to live in harmony in a culturally diverse society.
